About Surf Domain

Surf Domain is an Australian-focused review site for surfing, snowboarding, and adjacent outdoor gear. We are a small editorial team of weekend surfers, ex-board-shop staff, and a couple of retired snowboard instructors who got tired of reading affiliate posts written by people who have never set foot in the water.

What we cover

Surfboards, snowboards, wetsuits, boots, leashes, board bags, traction pads, water-sport accessories — anything you would actually pack for a weekend on the coast or in the Snowy Mountains. We focus on gear that is genuinely available in Australia (so no rave reviews of products you cannot buy here).

How we work

We test what we can with our own boards and budgets, and we lean on long-running gear forums, manufacturer specs, and the trade press for the rest. We try to be honest about which sections of a review are first-hand and which are research synthesis. If we have not personally used a product, we will say so.
