   Wonderful Backpack
   The kestrel 58 arrived as described. I checked everything out and it works as promised. It feels like it’s made from quality materials and is smartly designed. Seems durable and I plan on getting a lot of use out it. My Girlfriend got the Osprey Kyte 46 which is also fantastic. Osprey is well known and well regarded for a reason. The last pack I bought fell apart after a couple trips but was cheaper and not high quality. Excited to put this pack to test and get some mileage.

   E’ leggero, ma nello stesso tempo con belle imbottiture, che consentono di portare carichi pesanti senza problemi.Buona l’aerazione della schiena (per me molto importante) e molto comodo l’alloggiamento esterno della sacca per l’acqua.Sono alto 1.80 e ho preso taglia S/M.Devo dire che i colori disponibili non sono un granché, per i miei gusti. Entrambi parecchio tristi, senza neanche un inserto per ravvivarli un po’.Se però si guarda alla funzionalità e non all’estetica, allora assolutamente consigliato.

   Il miglior zaino da montagna che abbia mai avuto: leggero, praticissimo e versatile. Si può caricare all’inverosimile, quasi come fosse un modello da 70 litri, o lasciare sottile e compatto come uno da 48.Ha due tasche sul cappuccio superiore, una esterna e una interna dotata di moschettone in plastica per attaccarci la chiavi.Il corpo principale è accessibile da sopra e da davanti, con una zip a U che apre lo zaino frontalmente. Lo scompartimento inferiore, perfetto per la tenda o il sacco a pelo, comunica con quello centrale, e volendo possono diventare un unico tascone, spostando il divisore interno. Ha delle comodissime fettucce inferiori esterne, abbastanza lunghe, alle quali si può attaccare esternamente sacco a pelo/materassino/tenda. Lo scomparto più grande ha una cinghia interna di compressione sulla parte alta, utile a comprimere bene il contenuto dello zaino.Ci sono poi due tasche laterali, non grandissime, adatte a delle borracce, e una tasca esterna frontale, veramente capiente, che si può riempire molto essendo elastica.Sulla cinghia lombare ci sono altre due piccole tasche, una per lato, molto capienti rispetto a quelle della concorrenza.Sulla sommità del cappuccio superiore, ci sono quattro passanti, per fissare eventualmente con una corda qualcos’altro, come un materassino o una giacca.Tra il corpo dello zaino e lo schienale, c’è un’ulteriore scomparto per la sacca dell’acqua, veramente intelligente, in modo che la sacca non occupi spazio all’interno dello zaino.Lo schienale è molto comodo, composto di una retina e una struttura rigida che favorisce la dispersione del sudore, veramente efficiente per uno zaino di queste dimensioni. L’altezza è regolabile tramite un velcro, molto stabile e fermo quando fissato.Gli spallacci sono molto comodi, mediamente larghi e ben imbottiti.Lo zaino è molto leggero e in spalla si fa sentire davvero poco, anche quando il carico è importante.ATTENZIONE: gli zaini Osprey sopra i 45 litri di volume hanno due taglie: S/M e M/L. Scegliete la vostra in base alla vostra altezza, considerando che per me (uomo, 174 cm per 71 kg) va bene la S/M. Se siete alti tra 175 e 182 cm e siete in dubbio sulla taglia, sappiate che esiste un’app di Osprey fatta apposta per calcolare la vostra taglia. Basta scaricarla e seguire la procedura indicata, è molto semplice e intuitiva e richiede non più di 3 minuti.Se volete farvi un’idea più dettagliata sul prodotto, consiglio di cercare su Youtube la recensione dello zaino Osprey Kestrel 68 di Omar Cai Salatissimo. Lo zaino nel video ha un litraggio maggiore (10 litri di differenza), ma le caratteristiche e la struttura sono esattamente uguali, cambia solo la dimensione (circa 2 cm di differenza in altezza e larghezza, 1 di profondità).

   The best on the market by far.
   I was looking for a rucksack for two to three day hiking and camping trips that needed to carry a synthetic sleeping bag and a two man tent and everything else required and this fills all requirements perfectly.I had bought a Snugpak Scorpion 2 tent and an Elite 3 synthetic sleeping bag and was very happy with both and was about to get the Rocketpak 70 litre which although I liked the aesthetics and it matching the rest of my set-up, when I researched it had very mixed reviews on build quality and then decided to do a lot more investigation.After hours of searching Osprey kept on coming up with very little complaint, I then needed to work out what size I needed as my sleeping bag and tent aren’t the most compact, I worked out the volume of my largest items and concluded that the 58 litre would be big enough to carry all including, sleeping pad, food, water, camera etc.I also wanted something that fitted in with the rest of my olive green setup, so I didn’t want dayglow colours, I wanted something discreet, this is is perfect.The biggest surprise for me when loaded up with all my gear is just how comfortable it is, the weight feels like nothing, I tested it with my full setup which is about 16 kg and did a 12 mile hike in the hills and it was brilliant, I have never used a rucksack that is this comfortable before it is a revelation to me, previous bags although decent always made me relieved at the end of the day to get the bag off my shoulders, but with this it is a pleasure to use.The excellent ergonomics mean that water bottles are close to hand, main access through the front or the top mean you can get what you need without emptying the whole bag, handy pockets on the waist for torch and phone, and the bag can be winched up if you are carrying a smaller load.It appears as if Osprey have really thought about everything to make this a very well thought out product.It should also be noted it comes with an attached high visibility rain cover for when conditions and visibility deteriorate.This has no negatives, it is a great looking bag that works beyond expectation, definitely one of my best purchases, very highly recommended.
